Prince Emrah x House of Namus
„QUEERS GOT MARRIED" Musical-Cabaret-Show

17:00 Uhr: doors open/welcoming/food and drinks
19:00 Uhr: „QUEERS GOT MARRIED". Musical-Cabaret-Show by Prince Emrah x House of Namus

Das sagt House of Namus dazu:

Sunday, October 25
Prince Emrah x House of Namus

in cooperation with “heimaten - Festival for Pluralistic Democracy” at the HKW Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.

5:00 p.m.: Doors open/welcome/food and drinks
7:00 p.m.: Show “Queers Got Married.” Cabaret show by Prince Emrah x House of Namus

The evening with Prince Emrah and House of Namus brings several drag artists with experiences of flight and migration to the FWT, staging a queer wedding party with glitter and glamour on the dance floor. House of Namus is at once a show, a safe space, art, and a party, shaping its spaces to be political and glamorous, serious, and sometimes wonderfully over the top.
Now that the boundaries of what is acceptable to say are narrowing and diversity is facing increasing hostility, House of Namus counters these alarming developments with glittering color, dance, and music. Because visibility can be political, and resistance can sparkle. And sometimes, change begins with dancing together.

The evening begins with a small community welcome at 5:00 p.m. and flows seamlessly into the cabaret show “Queers Got Married” starting at 7:00 p.m. With a little luck, there will be a short, intense set afterward by DJ legend İpek (İpekçioğlu).

This is what House of Namus says:
You’re invited to our first musical theatre and performance show!

“QUEERS GOT MARRIED” We’re bringing a queer twist to iconic TV dating and marriage shows like “Evleneceksen Gel”, “Herzblatt” and “The Dating Game”, with all the nostalgia and drama of ’90s and 2000s television.
Two strangers meet on our stage without seeing each other. Through playful questions and performances, they reveal their personalities, charm each other with their talents and fall in love. In front of your eyes, a first encounter becomes a wedding – with a few unexpected twists!
Expect theatre meets reality TV, with drag, lip-sync, dance, storytelling and other surprises. Inspired by wedding traditions from Turkey and Central Asia, this celebration also explores family pressure, forced marriages and feelings that have long been hidden.
With humour and heart, we celebrate the freedom to love openly, be ourselves and create family on our own terms.
Maybe you’ve never been to a queer wedding. Now you’re invited to ours. Come, laugh, feel and celebrate with us!
